Bobov Dol

The Bobov Dol municipality is located in the western part of the Doupnitsa valley. It is located at a 20 km distance from Dupnitsa town, 27 km from Radomir town, 42 km from Pernik city and 62 km from Sofia. Its territory is crossed by main road Е-79. The transport and communication connections in the municipality are well established. The railway line Doupnitsa - Bobov Dol is a branch of the meridian railway line Sofia - Doupnitsa - Koulata - Athens, and thus it ensures the transportation of coal and large cargoes.

The municipality is of substantial economic importance at district and national level. It is the center of significant economic activities such as coal mining, electric power generation and mining of bituminous coal.
