The Museum of History in Smolyan

The Museum of history in Smolyan is the oldest and the biggest in the Middle Rhodopes. It was established in 1935. Its founders aimed at studying, preserving and popularising the heritage of the population from the central part of the Rhodopes, which is unique with its artistic value and historical importance. The museum houses over 150 000 exhibits. There are four levels, where the exhibition halls of the permanent exhibition “Cultural and historical heritage of the Rhodopes from antiquity to present day” are situated. The museum also dispose with spacious lobbies for temporary exhibitions.

Working hours: 9-12, 13-17. Closed on Monday.
