Shipkovo is a resort village, situated at 20 kilometres from Troyan in Stara Planina. The village is famous for its curative mineral springs, which attract a lot of visitors who are looking not only for the beneficial influence of the mineral baths, but also for rest and relaxation. The water of the mineral spring can treat renal, liver and gastric diseases, rheumatism, hypertonicity, and nervous system diseases. The resort has an outdoor mineral pool. The Central Balkan National Park is located nearby.
