The Panichishte resort is situated among beautiful and old coniferous forests in Rila, about 60km from Sofia. There are several ski-runs, a lot of recreational homes and prophylactic centres. In the centre of the resort village was established the Panichishte tourist centre, included in the Rila National Park. In this area is located the lowest glacial lake in Rila – Lake Suhoto. The remarkable Urdini lakes and Skakavitsa Falls are also here. The Seven Lakes of Rila, Mount Malyovitsa and the biggest Bulgarian cultural monument – the Rila monastery, are also located nearby.
