The Historical Museum of Yambol
It was established in 1952. Its funds consist of more than 50 000 interesting and unique objects tracing the history of the region along the lower course of the Tundzha river from the remote past until nowadays.
Visitors of the museum can see finds from the prehistorical era, from Antiquity and Middle Ages (6000 BC - 14-th century AC) exposed in the great ground hall, revealing the rich historical past of Yambol region.
On the second floor an exposition is arranged, called “Traditions and national costumes of Yambol region – XIX – beginning of XX c.”. It illustrates the most important customs and traditions, family events and holidays, ceremony and traditional national costumes are shown, as well as cucker masks, civil clothes.
Thematically-orientated presentations, multimedia shows and leaflets are offered by the museum. Foreign tourist groups need to be accompanied by an interpreter.
